Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The First Bath - Wire Fox Terrier Puppies by Arthur Wardle was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 35,000.00 (€ 32,425.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Wardle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 337,875.00 (€ 386,081.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The First Bath - Wire Fox Terrier Puppies von Arthur Wardle im Januar 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 35.000,00 (€ 32.425,42) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Wardle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.875,00 (€ 386.081,08).
