Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mumbai Walk by Atul Bhalla was sold in the Indian Art auction at Sothebys in London in June 2009. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,133.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,500.00 – 4,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Atul Bhalla - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Yamuna morning IV, which sold at auction in November 2007 for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,390.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mumbai Walk von Atul Bhalla wurde im Juni 2009 in der Auktion Indian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.133,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.500,00 – 4.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Atul Bhalla mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Yamuna morning IV beobachtet, die im November 2007 für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 16.390,93) versteigert wurde.
