Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Menelaus and Astyanax by Augustin Pajou was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000. It achieved a price of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,246.12), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustin Pajou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Amour dominateur des éléments in November last year with an auction result of EUR 314,880.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Menelaus and Astyanax von Augustin Pajou kam im Dezember 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.246,12) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustin Pajou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Amour dominateur des éléments im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 314.880,00.
