In April 2015 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Cairo, the citadel from the desert by Augustus Osborne Lamplough. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 3,261.42), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Augustus Osborne Lamplough - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Arab On A Camel Surveying The Desert At Dusk, which sold at auction in January 2015 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,477.30).

Im April 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cairo, the citadel from the desert von Augustus Osborne Lamplough zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 3.261,42) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Augustus Osborne Lamplough mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Arab On A Camel Surveying The Desert At Dusk beobachtet, die im Januar 2015 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.477,30) versteigert wurde.
