This artwork by Aung Khin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auction, the work Backstage at a Pwe sold for HKD 153,000.00 (€ 18,164.38) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. This high result makes Backstage at a Pwe the most expensive artwork by Aung Khin that we have observed at auctions so far.
