Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (Watermelon Seller) (Recto); Untitled (The Dream) (Verso) by Badri Narayan was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2015. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,039.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Badri Narayan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 52,908.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Watermelon Seller) (Recto); Untitled (The Dream) (Verso) von Badri Narayan wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.039,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Badri Narayan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 52.908,17).
