Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Home Sweet Home by Banksy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,742,000.00 (€ 1,981,861.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Banksy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love is in the Bin in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 18,582,000.00 (€ 22,014,651.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Home Sweet Home von Banksy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.742.000,00 (€ 1.981.861,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Banksy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Love is in the Bin im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.582.000,00 (€ 22.014.651,32).
