Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I, Including Treasures from the Antony Embden Collection, which included the work Bathing Woman | Jeune fille à son bain by Barthélemy Prieur. The price achieved of EUR 138,600.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barthélemy Prieur - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Bronze Figure Of A Seated Nude Woman Braiding Her Hair, which sold at auction in January this year for USD 403,200.00 (€ 371,339.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I, Including Treasures from the Antony Embden Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bathing Woman | Jeune fille à son bain von Barthélemy Prieur zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 138.600,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Barthélemy Prieur mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Bronze Figure Of A Seated Nude Woman Braiding Her Hair beobachtet, die im Januar diesen Jahres für USD 403.200,00 (€ 371.339,10) versteigert wurde.
