This artwork by Bartholomäus Bruyn the Elder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2017. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work The Coronation Of The Virgin sold for GBP 585,000.00 (€ 658,331.81) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bartholomäus Bruyn the Elder; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Coronation Of The Virgin sold at auction in December 2014 with the realized price of GBP 626,500.00 (€ 806,513.26).
