In November 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Vindicta by Belkis Ayón. The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,000.00 (€ 33,478.41), 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Belkis Ayón have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Desobediencia in September last year with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 218,951.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vindicta von Belkis Ayón zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 33.478,41) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Belkis Ayón auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Desobediencia im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 218.951,24).
