Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ogidi South by Ben Enwonwu was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction auction at Sothebys in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,914.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Enwonwu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christine in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,095,000.00 (€ 1,270,121.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ogidi South von Ben Enwonwu wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.914,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Enwonwu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christine im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.095.000,00 (€ 1.270.121,47).
