Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 1945 (still life) by Ben Nicholson was sold in the Modern British Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June last year. The price achieved of GBP 365,400.00 (€ 424,490.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work April 57 (Arbia 2) in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 3,749,000.00 (€ 4,423,451.41).
