The work Venice, A View Of The Grand Canal Looking South From The Palazzo Foscari And Palazzo Moro-Lin Towards The Church Of Santa Maria Della Carità, With Numerous Gondolas And Barges by Bernardo Bellotto was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,557,000.00 (€ 3,624,967.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernardo Bellotto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Verona with the Ponte delle Navi, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 10,575,000.00 (€ 12,401,380.23).
