Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Girl Reading' by Bessie Potter Vonnoh. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,482.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bessie Potter Vonnoh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Water Nymph': A Fountain in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 147,000.00 (€ 140,200.29).
