Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (She with a Newspaper) by Bikash Bhattacharjee was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 56,250.00 (€ 45,657.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bikash Bhattacharjee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Balloon, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 102,000.00 (€ 150,099.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (She with a Newspaper) von Bikash Bhattacharjee wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 45.657,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Bikash Bhattacharjee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red Balloon beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 102.000,00 (€ 150.099,90) versteigert wurde.
