This artwork by Biren De achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2019. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Genesis II sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,230.85) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Biren De; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot September '73 sold at auction in October 2018 with the realized price of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 67,661.49).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Biren De erzielte im März 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Genesis II für USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.230,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Biren De; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit September '73 im Oktober 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 67.661,49).
