Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work German rest In The Forest by Carl Blechen was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in May 2015. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,500.00 (€ 24,331.91), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Carl Blechen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dünenlandschaft mit von Eichen umstandenem Hünengrab in November last year with an auction result of EUR 127,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit German rest In The Forest von Carl Blechen wurde im Mai 2015 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 24.331,91) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carl Blechen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dünenlandschaft mit von Eichen umstandenem Hünengrab im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 127.000,00.
