Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Taking photos in the park by Carl L. Wragg was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 64.63 (€ 101.21). Admittedly, works by Carl L. Wragg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A coffee pot, a cup, bottles and fruit on a table before a drape in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 411.25 (€ 644.02).
