Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work El pájaro alucinado by Carlos Mérida was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2008. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 68,500.00 (€ 53,962.50). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlos Mérida - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work El Pequeño Venado, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 212,500.00 (€ 190,600.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit El pájaro alucinado von Carlos Mérida kam im November 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 68.500,00 (€ 53.962,50) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Carlos Mérida mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit El Pequeño Venado beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 212.500,00 (€ 190.600,05) versteigert wurde.
