Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Coronation by Cesare-Auguste Detti was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 79,242.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cesare-Auguste Detti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Musical Interlude, which sold at auction in October 2002 for USD 306,500.00 (€ 310,191.28).
