This artwork by Shafic Abboud achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2010. In the International Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,441.20) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shafic Abboud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Villa des Iris in November this year with an auction result of GBP 381,400.00 (€ 441,959.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shafic Abboud erzielte im Oktober 2010 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion International Modern and Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 146.500,00 (€ 105.441,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shafic Abboud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Villa des Iris im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 381.400,00 (€ 441.959,66).
