The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,029.87), 36% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ernest Cundall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Cup Tie At Crystal Palace, Corinthians V Manchester City in December this year with an auction result of GBP 127,400.00 (€ 146,759.92).
