The »bidding war« ended at USD 80,500.00 (€ 60,851.16), 15% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Émile Auguste Durand - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Portrait Of Henri Fantin-Latour, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 215,000.00 (€ 172,857.37).
