Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work A woman in green drapery by Charles Fairfax Murray for GBP 6,930.00 (€ 8,275.65). This price was achieved in the auction The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Charles Fairfax Murray have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2016 by the work The four seasons at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,924.21).
