Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of Horatio Stone by Charles Loring Elliott. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,377.52), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Loring Elliott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Thomas Loraine McKenney in August 2010 with an auction result of USD 11,875.00 (€ 9,347.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Horatio Stone von Charles Loring Elliott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.377,52) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Loring Elliott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Thomas Loraine McKenney im August 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 9.347,45).
