Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Robertson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2019. In the Orientalist Art auction, the work Prayer in the mosque of Sultan Hasan, Cairo sold for GBP 218,750.00 (€ 254,469.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Robertson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Carpet Seller, Cairo, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 663,000.00 (€ 769,032.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Robertson erzielte im April 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Orientalist Art wurde die Arbeit Prayer in the mosque of Sultan Hasan, Cairo für GBP 218.750,00 (€ 254.469,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Robertson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Carpet Seller, Cairo beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 663.000,00 (€ 769.032,45) versteigert wurde.
