Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Highland landscape, with cattle and sheep before a loch by Charles Stuart was sold in the THE SCOTTISH SALE, THE ASSEMBLY ROOMS, EDINBURGH auction at Christies in London in October 2003. The price achieved of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,217.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Stuart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Civil War Naval Battle: The Monitor and the Merrimack in January this year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 75,428.26).
