Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Little Sylvia by Charles Webster Hawthorne was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2013. It changed hands for a price of USD 56,250.00 (€ 43,309.21) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Webster Hawthorne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portuguese Fisherboy in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 298,000.00 (€ 271,056.94).

Die Arbeit Little Sylvia von Charles Webster Hawthorne kam im Mai 2013 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 43.309,21) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Webster Hawthorne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portuguese Fisherboy im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 298.000,00 (€ 271.056,94).
