In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work The Roast Beef of Old England by Charles Willis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 900.00 (€ 1,289.54), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Willis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegant company relaxing in a drawing room, which sold at auction in August 2000 for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,689.48).

Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Roast Beef of Old England von Charles Willis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 900,00 (€ 1.289,54) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Willis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elegant company relaxing in a drawing room beobachtet, die im August 2000 für GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.689,48) versteigert wurde.
