A top price for Chen Shaobai
This artwork by Chen Shaobai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu sold for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 25,396.14) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu the most expensive artwork by Chen Shaobai that we have observed at auctions so far.
