Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work On the Way Home by Cheong Soo Pieng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 5,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 5,040,000.00 (€ 625,422.84). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cheong Soo Pieng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nature's Inspiration, which sold at auction in November this year for HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit On the Way Home von Cheong Soo Pieng kam im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 5.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 5.040.000,00 (€ 625.422,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70) versteigert wurde.
