Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work J'aime la Couleur by Chéri Samba was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in March 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 44,100.00 (€ 51,806.14). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chéri Samba - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Congolese J'Aime La Couleur , which sold at auction in April 2019 for GBP 93,750.00 (€ 109,058.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit J'aime la Couleur von Chéri Samba wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 44.100,00 (€ 51.806,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Chéri Samba mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Congolese J'Aime La Couleur beobachtet, die im April 2019 für GBP 93.750,00 (€ 109.058,34) versteigert wurde.
