Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Christies in London held the auction From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints Online, which included the work Silkworm by Chobunsai Eishi. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,992.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,400.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chobunsai Eishi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauty writing a poem on a fan in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 144,890.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Silkworm von Chobunsai Eishi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.992,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.400,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chobunsai Eishi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beauty writing a poem on a fan im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 144.890,86).
