Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cildo Meireles could be acquired at Christies in New York in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Metros I changed hands for USD 50,400.00 (€ 47,619.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cildo Meireles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rodos in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 641,000.00 (€ 583,045.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cildo Meireles konnte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin American Art wechselte die Arbeit Metros I für USD 50.400,00 (€ 47.619,05) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cildo Meireles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rodos im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 641.000,00 (€ 583.045,30).
