When the work Mère Et Son Enfant Nourrisant Les Pigeons À Venise by Claude Marks was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in April 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 496.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Claude Marks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Brendan Behan, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,590.05).

Als die Arbeit Mère Et Son Enfant Nourrisant Les Pigeons À Venise von Claude Marks im April 2007 bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 496,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Claude Marks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Brendan Behan beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.590,05) versteigert wurde.
