This artwork by Constantinos Parthenis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2008. In the The Greek Sale auction, the work Greek A Tree-Lined Road sold for GBP 276,500.00 (€ 352,498.43) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Constantinos Parthenis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greek The Virgin And Child, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 670,100.00 (€ 938,313.36).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Constantinos Parthenis erzielte im April 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Greek Sale wurde die Arbeit Greek A Tree-Lined Road für GBP 276.500,00 (€ 352.498,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Constantinos Parthenis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greek The Virgin And Child beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 670.100,00 (€ 938.313,36) versteigert wurde.
