The work Oiseaux by Corneille was auctioned at Christies in Paris in March 2021. It achieved a price of EUR 250,000.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67 %. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Corneille; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot “Mon canal chante” (My canal sings), 1949 sold at auction in December this year with the realized price of DKK 2,500,000.00 (€ 335,382.39).

Die Arbeit Oiseaux von Corneille kam im März 2021 bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 250.000,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67 %. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Corneille; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit “Mon canal chante” (My canal sings), 1949 im Dezember diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von DKK 2.500.000,00 (€ 335.382,39).
