However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hercules And Achelous, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 8,105,000.00 (€ 5,206,192.19).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.371.000,00 (€ 1.599.541,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hercules And Achelous beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 8.105.000,00 (€ 5.206.192,19) versteigert wurde.
