This artwork by Cornelius Varley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2013. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Fishing On The Rheidel, Near Devil'S Bridge, Wales sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,835.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelius Varley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hampstead Heath, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,775.37).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelius Varley erzielte im April 2013 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Fishing On The Rheidel, Near Devil'S Bridge, Wales für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.835,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelius Varley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hampstead Heath beobachtet, die im Juli 2010 für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.775,37) versteigert wurde.
