Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2013 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Evening Sale, which included the work Single Form (Chûn Quoit) by Barbara Hepworth. The price achieved of GBP 241,875.00 (€ 276,384.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Single Form (Chûn Quoit) von Barbara Hepworth zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 241.875,00 (€ 276.384,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
