Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With Fans by Elizabeth Violet Blackadder was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,129.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elizabeth Violet Blackadder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cats And Orchids in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 46,411.86).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.129,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Violet Blackadder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cats And Orchids im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 46.411,86).
