Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art, which included the work The Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire in 2011 (twenty eleven)-18 March by David Hockney. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 1,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 1,083,500.00 (€ 129,869.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
