Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An equestrian portrait of King George III (1738-1820), reviewing the troops by David Morier was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings auction at Christies in London in November 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,849.26) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Morier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Equestrian portrait of Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland (1721-1765), full-length, mounted on his bay charger, in a blue coat, white breeches, black hat and the sash of the Order of the Bath, a view of the River Thames beyond in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,984.46).

Die Arbeit An equestrian portrait of King George III (1738-1820), reviewing the troops von David Morier wurde im November 2016 in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.849,26) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
