It achieved a price of USD 225,000.00 (€ 204,192.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diego Giacometti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' in October this year with an auction result of GBP 5,122,000.00 (€ 5,881,478.99).

Die Arbeit Chat maître d'hôtel von Diego Giacometti kam im November 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 204.192,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diego Giacometti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.122.000,00 (€ 5.881.478,99).
