Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Couplet In Seal Script by Ding Foyan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,200.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,703.46). Admittedly, works by Ding Foyan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,449.74).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Couplet In Seal Script von Ding Foyan im September 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 1.200,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.703,46) mehr als viermal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ding Foyan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.449,74).
