Description
DING YANYONG (1902-1978) Narcissus and Chick Scroll, mounted and framed, ink and colour on paper 68.5 x 34.5 cm. (27 x 13 5 ⁄ 8 in.) Inscribed and signed, with one seal of the artist Dated bingchen year (1976) Dedicated to Dingxian NOTE: The recepient is Huang Dingxian, a disciple of Ding Yanyong.
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Narcissus and Chick by Ding Yanyong was sold in the Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in New York in August this year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 21,420.00 (€ 2,519.65), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ding Yanyong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Crane In The Wait For Flight in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 9,040,000.00 (€ 884,914.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Narcissus and Chick von Ding Yanyong wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 21.420,00 (€ 2.519,65) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ding Yanyong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Crane In The Wait For Flight im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 9.040.000,00 (€ 884.914,95).
