Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work An extensive river landscape with sailboats by Dionijs Verburgh. The price achieved of USD 3,760.00 (€ 4,430.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dionijs Verburgh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Extensive River Landscape With Huntsmen In The Foreground, A Town Beyond, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).
