Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work California Prospector by Don Perceval was auctioned at Christies in Los Angeles in May 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,519.30). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Don Perceval - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pony Express Rider, which sold at auction in April this year for USD 7,650.00 (€ 6,929.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit California Prospector von Don Perceval im Mai 2000 bei Christies in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.350,00 (€ 2.519,30) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Don Perceval mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pony Express Rider beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für USD 7.650,00 (€ 6.929,35) versteigert wurde.
