A top price for Donald Watson - as previously expected
The work Short-eared owl in flight; and Coots by Donald Watson was sold in the The Astor Collection from Tillypronie, Aberdeenshire auction at Christies in London in December 2017. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,688.03), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Short-eared owl in flight; and Coots is the most expensive artwork by Donald Watson that we have observed at auctions so far.
