Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Bonhams in Sidney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Karntakurlangu Jukurrpa, 2000 by Dorothy Robinson Napangardi. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 7,380.00 (€ 6,877.27), 23% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Dorothy Robinson Napangardi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Salt on Mina Mina, 2003 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 49,200.00 (€ 43,589.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Sidney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Karntakurlangu Jukurrpa, 2000 von Dorothy Robinson Napangardi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 7.380,00 (€ 6.877,27) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dorothy Robinson Napangardi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Salt on Mina Mina, 2003 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 49.200,00 (€ 43.589,97).
